I kayaked with this company for years and have never had a sour experience. Though I've heard the owners 'safety speech' in the upwards of 30 times; he still cracks me up. He and his staff are very positive and outgoing. I've seen them go above and beyond on many occasions! If this is your first time kayaking; I would highly recommend this option!
Excellent experience! Very matter of fact and laid back. A total Joy and a great selection of boats for sale. I can't wait to come back and paddle again. The river was very nice. Several technical spots and one real nice 2 or 3 depending on which side of the island you choose (Moccasin Gap). My wife, daughter 14, and son 12 all had a blast. Highly recommended.
Spent two nights (tent) camping here. Our spot was right on the river. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about the river. You can rent boats or they will shuttle yours. Great fishing around the islands with a very calm area right at the campground if you want some nice relaxing paddling and fishing.
I spent a few hours with Chris today. He is an amazing guy and knows his kayaking stuff. I had him order me a sea kayak. This is not a boat in great demand in central Alabama. Even though its not common in my area, Chris seemed to know all about the sea kayak style. He took so much time in giving me tips and an all around general education. He could have been a, "Here is your boat, where is my check?" kind of guy but he wasn't. Thanks Chris for making my purchase experience a great one!
